Community Plan Update

Back in 2020, the Deans Marsh community came together through the MaDCAP process to

create the Deans Marsh Community Plan—a 10-year vision designed to guide and support

local initiatives. Since then the plan has played a key part in securing funding, protecting vital community assets and helping to shape future goals.

As a living document, the Community Plan is meant to evolve with the needs of Deans Marsh

and its district. Over the past few years we’ve seen some significant changes, including:

✅ The approval of a new plan for the Deans Marsh Community Hub

✅ Development of a renewable energy strategy

✅ Valuable insights from the latest Census data

✅ Funding secured to proceed with new street tree plantings

We now have an exciting opportunity to refine and update the Community Plan.

The update process will retain the key elements and priorities of the existing Plan but will

make adjustments reflecting changes that have occurred over the past 5 years. With Shire

funding secured to support this process, we’re inviting community members to get involved.

How You Can Help.

We’re looking for contributors to help shape this next phase—everyone is welcome, and

we’d especially love input from those with skills in plan writing, communications and

marketing.

The process will be undertaken over four 2 hour meetings facilitated by a professional

provided by the Shire. The Community Action Network (CAN) will oversee the update

process, ensuring that any proposed changes reflect the vision of the whole Deans Marsh

community.

If you're interested in taking part, please contact CAN via James Maund at

james@frogwood.com.au by Thursday 1 May for more details.

A coffee catch up meeting is planned for the week of 28 April to start the ball rolling, so if you would like to join this as well, please get in touch by Monday 28 April. Let’s work together to ensure a strong future for Deans Marsh!
